SHOP needs to be fixed for this game to be awesome

Even in the new version, keeps firing in the obviously wrong direction! How hard can this be??

I was a bit disappointed- there doesnt seem to be any ability to aim, or even choose which side of your ship is going to fire. Its almost as if the iPhone is playing without you. The steering has the precision of a snow globe, and the playing area that your ship can sail in is extremely limited. The old Apple ][ "Broadsides" game had more detailed gameplay and better controls than this does. Hold off, and hope for substantial changes.

I got dizzy trying to sail this boat. It is confusing because when the boat is going "north" you turn right and it turns right but when you go "south" you turn right and it turns left. So I just kept sailing in circles and it is boring after a while. Sometimes it gets too close and you cant see what is going on around you.

I really like this game, but would like realism to be introduced with a wind direction. Right now you can sail whichever direction you choose, but back then it was impossible to sail directly into the wind. This would allow for more strategy: getting the weather gauge, &c. Id also like better controls. Its difficult to use the wheel and the accelerometer. Maybe always having the screen follow the ship in the direction its going instead of struggling to convert left and right when sailing down on the screen. Also a better way to fire. Maybe buttons at the bottom of the screen for firing port or starboard battery. Even the ability to not fire a broadside each time or the addition of bow and stern chasers.

I just stayed up until 2:30am on a work night playing this game! Lots of fun but god help you if u spawn in the middle of a group of big ships! O_o

Very good game works good and is very fun. You will like this one.

I love the game. But maybe some special abilities and online multiplayer would make it perfect. I will buy the full version, but please add new content! Maybe crew to add abilities, and a way to customize the look of your ship :)

Helluava fun game. Reminds me of pirates of the carribean 4 gameboy Shop button makes game crash Pretty fun but 2 nd stage is hard without shop Minor bugs and annoying crap Lite version is about 3 1/2 and pretty addicting

I previously downloaded Warships seeing as Ive had a naval warfare obsession this week, this game is very fun. Not quite addicting, but very fun. The good & bad - Good: I. Graphics are on point. II. Gameplay is smooth. III. Area 3 is probably the best, addition of the companion ship is nice. Bad: I. Should be a way to slow down or stop the ship. II. Being able to manage the companion ship, as in strategy, so its not mindlessly wandering about. III. A bigger map. Which Im sure there probably is in the full version. IV. Sometimes the barrels add nothing?thats annoying when trying to buy upgrades. Overall, worth downloading because its free. And has a small feel of Pirates of the Caribbean.... ;)

Pros: 1. Fun for a minute 2. Satisfying when you hit your target Cons: 1. Cannons dont fire the direction you want most of the time. 2. The steering wheel will make my ship rotate oddly. 3. When using the wheel, you have to TAP the ship, which means reaching across the screen, obscuring your vision. 4. Enemy vessels can go outside the map limits, but you cant? 5. No in-game instructions.

Even the free version is amazingly authentic, simple to play, and has graphics perfectly tailored for the iPhone / Touch. Theyve even included realistic ocean and cannon sounds that do not require earbuds for good effect. The "tiller" mode is much better for me than using the accelerometer to turn the ships. As with everything, a Pogo stylus will make it much more fun. I end up using tactics much as were actually used in the days of sail, which says a great deal for its authenticity. Try the free one, but itll get you hooked. No crashes or problems of any kind with iOS 4.0.

It takes a while to clear each area with 4 phases, need to have some kind of saving system so we can carrying on after receiving a call or something! And put some boats status info or something, dont know what the hell we buying and upgrading for, looks so cheap at this point!
